Quality Chef of the Year Competition

This year will be the second year of the Quality Chef of the Year (QCOTY) Competition. This competition provides an opportunity for twelve Quality Training & Hospitality College (QTHC) students to perform in a MasterChef environment. Students will be able to showcase their culinary skills, create amazing dishes and display why they are the future leaders of the Australian and International culinary scene. 

Why should students enter?

QCOTY Competition gives students an opportunity ot apply their skills and stretch their abilities in a MasterChef setting. In a pressure environment, students will prepare three dishes that will be judged by world-renowned chefs. This competition celebrates QTHC student talent. It gives students an opportunity to build their resume with professional recognition of the practical application of their skills.

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Applicants must be a student based at our Adelaide campus

  2. Applicants must be aged 18 years or over as of November 17th 2020

  3. ​Applicants must be either:​​

    • currently enrolled at Quality Training & Hospitality College
      OR

    • be a student that graduated in the December 2019 or July 2020 Graduation ceremony

Terms & Conditions​

 

The Prize​

  • The student who finishes in top place will win a prize valued at $3,000.00

  • The winner will be announced at the graduation ceremony on December 15th 2020.

Eligibility Criteria​

  • Applicants must be based at our Adelaide campus

  • Applicants must be aged 18 years or over as of November 17th 2020

  • ​Applicants must be either:​​

    • currently enrolled at Quality Training & Hospitality College
      OR

    • be a student that graduated in the December 2019 or July 2020 Graduation ceremony

Application Process

  • Students must complete the application and submit their most current and updated resume via QTHC website.

  • Application to be submitted with relevant supporting information as per submission instructions on the application form, by 5:00pm Tuesday 3rd November 2020.

  • Late applications will not be accepted.

Judging Process

  • Applicants to be shortlisted and twelve finalists to be announced on November 6th, 2020.​

  • Judging panel to submit judging cards and contestants to be scored on day of competition. 

  • Top three students to be announced on day of competition.

  • Top three students are required to attend the December graduation ceremony, as this is where the winner of the competition will be announced. 

  • Announcement of winner and presentation at the December graduation ceremony. All top three students must be in attendance at the graduation ceremony. 

  • All students will be awarded with:

    • Certificate of Achievement​

    • Feedback from judging panel
